Artist's Comments

This is an Assemblage. I made this of found objects. The image in the box is a postcard of an image painted by Victor Huerta Bautista. I made and painted the box and "assembled" the objects after tweaking them to fit what I wanted.

Seeing this in full view really brought it together for me. The background with the "Alice in Wonderland" images is especially pertinent if you consider that Lewis Carroll was alleged to have had a penchant for VERY young girls. It works wonders with the tied-up doll on her back in the foreground. This is definitely an assemblage that provokes a disturbing subject.

Thank you. I meant it to be disturbing and thought provoking. I like the idea of using images that are suppose to convey innocense and youth and then twisting them, like what happens when a child’s, well childhood, isn't so idyllic.

You did a very good job at it, and I'm sad to imagine why. :(
